About
Hello, I’m Ripsey. Well, actually… I’m Stefan Grambart; Ripsey (or RIP) is just an internet moniker I started using a decade ago and it’s kinda stuck. I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember, and have always wanted to work in some kind of creative field. As a kid I used to draw all sorts of stuff; haunted houses, army men, underwater cities.., anything I could wrap my little imagination around! I started this site as a place to showcase some of my work and have an online portfolio of sorts. Ever since I can remember I’ve been drawing my own cards for peoples’ birthdays, Christmas, and so forth.
After high school I enrolled in Fine Arts at University, but after six months of brutal funding I decided to switch to a college course: Classical Animation! Two years later and at about a fifth of the price of University I graduated with a degree and found work in film, television, and video games. Because the animation industry is somewhat seasonal, I took on doing the odd digital photo retouching job, and a few design jobs as well.
Six years into the animation career I made a move to Graphic design full-time; the security and stability were a welcome change. I never regretted my time in animation and have used those skills on various occasions. Lately though, I’ve missed working with pencil and paper and decided to spend more free time drawing and painting.
