Coming soon
Updates have been slow coming, I know… I’m going to make up for that. Firstly, there’s going to be a new version of this site – I started the design earlier last month, but put it on hold to see what the new WordPress release will have to offer. I’m hoping to incorporate some kind of store feature so that I can sell prints etc.
Secondly, you can expect a brand new drawing every day next month! Yup, to celebrate the coming of Autumn I’m going to post thirty-one original ghost sketches throughout the month of October – culminating on Halloween!

Black-Black Tomato Cat
Just finished this lunchtime sketch for an old idea that’s recently resurfaced. Years ago I used to joke about two eateries in my neighborhood (here and here), and eventually the name inspired a Post-It sketch of this same furry character. I’ve decided to finally do some development work on this, hopefully towards the goal of having something concrete in my hands next February!
In other news, I know it’s been a long time between posts… summer and all that. I’ve been quietly developing a new theme for the site – something that’ll hopefully go live by Christmas time.
Five Hundred sites!
Today I was going over new artist links in my bookmarks and adding them to the 400+ list, and I’m delighted to announce that the list has broken five hundred links and will now be re-christened “the 500+”!
I’m sure the list will keep growing, and so I’m starting to pull together my thoughts for some kind of worthwhile charity project I can try and organize; perhaps some kind of collaborative art book.
Check out the list here.
Discobelle.net / Vs Magazine
A couple of months ago, music site Discobelle.net ran a contest for an ad design for San Fran’s Versus Magazine. Now, normally I’m not one to do work on spec – and usually these kinds of contests are just cheap tricks to get free design work done… but these Swedes run their site as pretty much a community service, and have given the spotlight to a lot of up-and-coming Djs/artists (like Ottawa’s own Jokers of the Scene).
So I decided “What the hell”, and did up a little digital illustration in the same vein as the ol’ Broken stuff I did last year. Low and behold I won the comp, and the issue just went to print!
