Welcome to Ripsey 2.3!

June 16th, 2006

After three months of staying late after work I’ve finally finished rebuilding the site in WordPress! Now, normally it shouldn’t take that long, in fact if you head over to WordPress’ hosted blogs homepage, it’s actually as easy as Google’s Blogger!

However, being one to always take the hard road, I decided to try my hand at rebuilding the site using PHP… of which I had zero knowledge! After getting some help from people like Ray Frenden and Isotrope over at Drawn.ca, and a few others in the German WordPress community, I was able to learn just enough code to build the site and still have it look 95% like my original design; I even learned a lot of new tricks in CSS!

Currently I’ve imported all of my original Blogger posts (and comments), and have been working hard at getting them all edited correctly and posted (some image issues). Some aren’t public yet, but that’s because I’m still figuring out how I’m going to handle my categories… One upcoming change is that the WIP and Tutorial posts will be getting their own pages, and will be formatted more like a real tutorial…

I still have a lot of feature-exploring to do, so there’s going to be a few more additions over the course of the next few months… and hopefully a lot more posts!

Enjoy!

    Hey Steph
It was great to see you last night.
    I hope this e-mail gets to you….
I didn’t realize you had an exhibit of your work recently. Next time you have one, please let me know. I’d love to come out and see it.

See you soon…have a great long weekend.
